Optimal use of space with EO

The EO Smart Space Sensor can anonymously count how many people are in a room. Depending on the number of people detected, lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning are controlled as needed. In a building where HVAC technology runs at 100% for safety and comfort reasons, the data provided by EO can be used to deploy energy in a much more targeted manner and reduce consumption. This also allows processes and costs to be optimised.
Such visualisations of the recorded data can be implemented with the STEINEL Capstone platform. Individual floor plans and diagrams in selectable displays enable detailed processing of the recorded sensor measurements in the building.

Extensive analysis options

The EO Smart Space Sensor answers fundamental questions about building and room usage. The sensor is equipped with special measurements for this purpose.

Zoning: An area is divided into a detection matrix with 420 fields and 10 detection zones.

Restriction: Crossing or passing through certain areas can be detected. For example, it is possible to count how many people enter or leave a room or whether a certain area is entered in order to trigger a specific action.

Counting: The EO provides information on how many people are moving around in the room.

Localisation: The EO also provides information about where people are in the room.

This makes the EO Smart Space Sensor THE data supplier for the STEINEL Capstone platform and all other common building management systems. The visualisation of the data there provides a complete overview of the building status. Based on this information, optimisation suggestions for a better energy balance and air conditioning can be made.

People counter without camera – the technology.

Mounted on the ceiling, the EO Smart Space Sensor detects, locates and counts all people in the room. Privacy is always protected. This is because the innovative passive infrared matrix sensor does not have a camera and therefore cannot identify individuals. How does it work? Using a heat matrix. All temperatures in a precisely adjustable room area of up to 35 m² (at a mounting height of 3 m) are accurately recorded. 420 fields can be divided into 10 zones. The data obtained is evaluated using intelligent software based on the latest AI algorithms. This allows human heat radiation to be precisely identified and located.
