Senses for better buildings STEINEL sensors have features that make them unique. The technology and quality are outstanding and always designed to do more than just reliably switch light 'ON' and 'OFF'. Decades ago, we revolutionised the world of light with our motion detectors. Today, we are automating modern and sustainable buildings with highly specialised sensors. Intelligent sensory organs that control light, ventilation, heating and air conditioning efficiently and in line with demand, all in the interest of people. Everything to turn rooms into real living and feel-good spaces.

Technology leader in 6 sensor technologies

High frequency

It can even see through thin walls. HF sensors emit high-frequency waves and receive the reflected signals from objects. By analysing these reflected waves, they can determine the distance and movement of objects. This ability allows for precise and fast measurements to be taken and for the sensors to even penetrate materials.

Infrared

Reacts to moving heat sources. Passive infrared sensors detect the infrared radiation emitted by warm objects, such as the human body. These sensors do not have their own radiation source, but react to changes in the infrared radiation in their environment.

Ultrasound

Fills the entire space and also detects around objects. Ultrasonic sensors work by emitting ultrasonic waves and receiving the waves reflected from objects. The time it takes for the waves to travel from the sensor to the object and back is measured and used to calculate the distance or to detect objects.

Optical sensors

It only detects people and can also count them. It detects people in 5 individually adjustable zones! A worldwide unique optical sensor that detects and counts seated and standing people in up to five precisely definable detection zones. The integrated, state-of-the-art image recognition compares 150,000 positive images and 7 million negative images in real time.

True Presence®

The world's first true presence detector. True Presence® technology is based on the finest high-frequency measurements of the environment. The presence of people is detected using three-dimensional breathing patterns. The combination of an extremely sensitive antenna and unique sensor software ensures that the presence of people is detected 100%.

Infrared matrix technology

The basic answers for building and room use. Infrared matrix technology is based on a grid principle in which the detection area is divided into individual fields. Each of these zones is analysed in detail so that movements, the number of people and other detection variables can be precisely recorded in each field – without a camera.

Motion sensors

Motion sensors are used in many areas. In home automation, they are used to control lighting, heating or ventilation, thereby saving energy. In public spaces, motion sensors help to illuminate paths and buildings, thus improving safety and comfort.

Presence detector

Presence detectors are used wherever precise presence detection is required, such as in offices, conference rooms, schools and public buildings. They control lighting, air conditioning and other systems to save energy and increase comfort. Integrated into building management systems, they are an integral part of these systems and contribute to automation and efficiency.

Multisensory

Multi-sensors are used in building automation to control lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems based on the current environmental conditions. They are also used to collect data on air quality, temperature and humidity in order to create an optimal indoor and building climate.

Bluetooth MESH. Endless possibilities with a new standard.

As part of the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) community of members, we are continuously expanding the possibilities of Bluetooth technology to solve new challenges and take advantage of market opportunities. This makes it much easier to commission and configure intelligent systems and ensures that our products are future-proof.

To the Bluetooth sensors

IP. The Internet Protocol for IoT applications in the smart building sector.

Our IP sensors offer seamless integration into existing building infrastructures. They are easy to install and can be controlled directly. By connecting to server/cloud systems without gateways, they ensure the highest IT security standards. In addition, they enable the evaluation of up to 9 sensor measurement variables, which underlines their versatility and performance.

To the IP sensors

KNX. Control with a globally proven system.

Our KNX sensors can collect important information, process this data and communicate with other devices via the bus system to trigger various automated actions. This enables flexible and efficient control of various aspects of a building, such as lighting, heating, ventilation and security.

To the KNX sensors

DALI-2. Independent lighting management for existing and new buildings.

DALI-2 offers an advanced solution for controlling lighting systems in buildings. The DALI-2 standard supports several functions such as dimming, switching and colour control, enabling precise adjustment of the lighting. Integrating DALI-2 into building automation systems enables efficient and flexible control of lighting as well as optimised energy efficiency.
