The import ban on T5/T8 fluorescent tubes is a decision that was made as part of the switch to more energy-efficient lighting systems. T5/T8 fluorescent tubes consume significantly more energy than modern LED lights and are therefore less efficient. They also often contain harmful substances such as mercury, which can pollute the environment if disposed of incorrectly or if they break.
That is why it is important to act now. For retrofitting T5/T8 luminaires
A direct comparison of the CO2 values shows that our LED luminaire "RS PRO 5100 LED SC" has by far the smallest ecological footprint. The emissions of our sensor-controlled LED luminaire are demonstrably 20 times lower than those of a conventional T8 fluorescent tube and save more than €130 in electricity costs per luminaire per year.
But switching from an LED light without a sensor to one with a sensor also saves 141 kg of CO2 and €63.30 in electricity costs per year.
Incidentally, the CO2 emitted during the manufacturing process of the "RS PRO 5100 LED SC" is offset after just 40 days of use!
