Sky Tower, Wroclaw
Completed at the end of 2012, the Sky Tower complex in Wroclaw, Poland, is currently the country's tallest building. It features over 1,000 special corridor sensors from STEINEL that provide needs-based, energy-efficient light control. In addition to a shopping centre, the Sky Tower also houses offices and 236 apartments spread over 50 floors. The building's users and residents reach their rooms via a large number of corridors and hallways. Sensors from STEINEL should minimise the energy consumption of the lighting. Since corridors and hallways have their own very particular architecture - they are usually narrow and long - special corridor sensors from STEINEL were to be used in the Sky Tower. The detection field of these corridor sensors is perfectly tailored to this special spatial situation. Based on the scenario inside the building, it was decided to use the Dual HF presence detector from the Presence Control PRO family and the IS 345 passive infrared motion detector to monitor the high corridors and aisles.

"STEINEL sensors are truly outstanding. We've been won over by their sensor features and truly above-average ranges. This not only saves our customers energy but also investment and maintenance costs."

Corridor sensors
Since corridors and passageways have their own particular architecture - they are usually narrow and long - special corridor sensors from STEINEL were to be used in the Sky Tower. Their detection zone is perfectly tailored to this special spatial situation. The scenario inside the building was the reason for deciding in favour of using the dual-HF presence detector from the Presence Control PRO family as well as the IS 345 passive infrared motion detector.
Foresight from the ceiling
The Dual HF is a special corridor sensor equipped with two high-frequency sensors. With a range of up to 10 metres, these two sensors back to back cover both directions of the corridor. This means that a single Dual HF sensor can monitor up to 20 metres of corridor. The range of the sensor can be adjusted electronically.
active collection
Dual HF uses the high-frequency technology invented by STEINEL for room sensor systems. As an active system, the HF sensor emits high-frequency waves and receives the echo reflected by walls and objects. A person in the detection zone changes the echo, causing the Dual HF to respond with a switching signal. The HF sensor's exceptional responsiveness switches the light on without any delay.
recording from a great height
The IS 345 motion detector is ideal for monitoring high corridors and passageways. As a passive infrared sensor, it has a motion detection area of 20 × 4 metres above the sensor. The sensor can be precisely adjusted using cover plates and by repositioning the lens.
